Christine TriebertChris Triebert, Designer/Photographer
I studied graphic design and photography at the Art Institute of Boston, graduating in 1980. I worked in Boston’s advertising and design field for 10 years before moving to South Newfane, Vermont in 1990 to establish a studio with my partner, Carol Ross.

In our new Vermont home, in the pre-digital days, I built a classic black and white analog darkroom. The local landscape became my focus of my photography, and I soon developed a signature style that caught the eye of several major publishers including Graphique de France, Boston and Paris; Aperture, NY; and The Art Group, UK.

I established a 2nd career as an exhibiting photographer – showing my work in galleries throughout the Northeast, interior design showrooms in NY and LA, and at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show. My original prints are held in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Polo Ralph Lauren, Bank of America, and The Ritz Carlton Hotel, as well as by many private collectors.

My newest work uses my photographic archives as source material to design unique, handcrafted furnishings for the home. This work, is for me, the perfect blend of design and photography, providing a functional way to offer my images beyond art on the walls.

carolCarol Ross, Potter and Designer
I grew up in City Island, a small island community off the coast of the Bronx in NY. After graduating from Hunter College I started my career in a packaging design studio in New York. Wanting a slower pace, I migrated north to Boston where I became an advertising and magazine art director, and then to Vermont for an even slower pace, where I start a graphic design and photography studio with my partner, Chris Triebert.

After a 20 year hiatus, I felt the pull to return to clay, a medium that is more hands-on, and not computer based. I work at Wheelhouse Clay Center in Brattleboro, VT and have developed a line of pottery that has been described as unique and sometimes quirky. My signature coil and wire handles are present in most of my forms, and give each piece a distinctive personality. My graphic design background, and my love of simplicity in art and in life inspires all of my work.

My pottery is available at festivals and directly from me.
It’s not sold in stores or online outlets.
